Community Foundations are the fastest growing form of organized philanthropy in the nation because they so perfectly serve both donor’s goals and community needs.

The COMMUNITY FOUNDATION of Kankakee River Valley is a vehicle for charitable giving that builds overtime, substantial endowment funds for the community. It seeks to bring together individuals and organizations to identify and understand community issues and grant making opportunities.

OUR PURPOSE…

is to enhance the quality of life in Greater Kankakee County and adjacent areas today and for future generations.

MISSION STATEMENT:

• Promotes visionary philanthropy to create and support vital and caring communities.

• Builds and preserves funds of many individuals and institutions.

• Distributes to non-profit organizations that serve members of our community

• Convenes concerned individuals to shape flexible responses to changing needs of
our community.

The Impact Plan report of recommended directions in the areas of Early Childhood Education, Workforce Improvement, and Land Use & Protection is available here. This was developed for the new Communityworks Fund grant program. A series of public town meetings was held throughout the county, together with meetings of the Advisory Board, during 2006.This report was reviewed and endorsed by the Kankakee County Board in March 2007.

Form 990 filed with the Internal Revenue Service for the past three calendar years.

Certificate of tax exempt 501c3 status from the Internal Revenue Service.

Annual Charitable Organization Report filed with Illinois Attorney General, Form AG900-IL.

Annual Audit by a Certified Public Accountant for the last calendar year.

Names of Investment Committee Members and Names of Investment Managers & Fees Charged.

In addition, copies of the Annual Meeting Report, List of Endowment Funds,
and Application & Information for Grants, along with other reference documents.
