The Grand Victoria Foundation has created a visionary initiative called Communityworks, a $12 million, 5-year partnership with Illinois community foundations. Our community foundation is one of only eighteen in Illinois that have been invited to participate.

The goal of Communityworks is to create a desirable and vibrant community.
Communityworks:

• Gives us regular and unlimited technical support and expertise to hone our leadership, managerial, and financial skills for long term success.
• Helps us to build an endowment for making grants in the areas of:
- Child Care…
- Work force development…
- Land use and protection
• Provides much needed and hard to secure operating funds. Additionally we are part of a network of community foundations that share expertise, resources, and proven models of our work.
• Communityworks Progression Requirements
- Phase I (June 2003 – May 2005) has been completed successfully.
- Phase II (June 2005 – May 2008)

• Child Care
Accessible quality childcare that propels our children on a course of life-long,
learning and opportunity, while opening employment options for their
parents.
• Workforce Development
Help for our residents to prosper in the community.
• Land Use & Protection
Will help us provide a healthy environment in which decisions about the use and protection of land make the most sense for the well-being of our entire community.
