Be A Philanthropist!

The COMMUNITY FOUNDATION of Kankakee River Valley will work with you and/or your financial advisor to accomplish your goals for the permanent benefit of your community.
Your gift through the Community Foundation can benefit the agencies or causes you choose, or it can enable the Community Foundation to focus on new activities as times change. In either case your gift will impact the citizens of your community forever.

Create A Fund:

Choose How Much to Give...
You can establish most funds with a minimum of $5,000. You can add to your fund at any time, and others can contribute as well. There is no start up charge, and administrative fees are minimal.

Choose When to Give...
You can create a fund during your lifetime, in your will, or through a trust arrangement that benefits your family and your favorite charities. Tax deductions are earned at the time of the gift, while grant making continues into the future.

Choose What to Give...
You can start your fund with almost any kind of asset: cash, publicly traded securities, closely held stock, interests in limited partnerships, real estate, and tangible personal property. Gifts of long-term appreciated property earn tax deductions for their full market value.

Choose a Name...
Every grant from your fund carries its name. Many people choose to name their fund for the donor, for the donor’s family, or as a memorial to someone special. You can also remain anonymous.

Choose a Type of Fund...
Field-of-Interest Funds can be donor-directed for a particular purpose, such as: the arts, programs for youth, education, environment, civic affairs or health and human services. The Community Foundation selects the non-profit organizations that best serve your charitable intent. Existing funds include:
